Probate Administrator

A probate administrator is usually named by the court to oversee the probate process of a deceased person's estate who is intestate, meaning they have not left a will or they have left a will but have not named an executor. A probate administrator may also be named if there is conflict with the named executor or the executor chooses not to fulfill his duties as probate administrator. The probate administrator must follow the estate through the process of probate which includes protecting the assets of the estate until distribution, notifying creditors and settling debts of the estate, collecting monies of the estate and paying taxes for the estate and much more. In essence, the probate administrator acts on behalf of the deceased to settle their affairs.
