Probate Attorney

A probate attorney is the person who deals with the legal process during which a will is validated; the assets of the deceased are inventoried' and all debts, creditor claims, and taxes are paid. Whatever remains afterwards is distributed to the named beneficiaries and heirs. This is generally overseen by an executor of the will. Probate can take anywhere from 4 months to a number of years to be completed depending on state laws and the complexity of the will and amount of assets and property.
