Testator

Testator is the technical term for the person who writes a last will and testament. It is the legal term used when referring to the will and can refer to both a male or female. A testator can use an attorney or estate planner to write a last will and testament; write one on their own; purchase a do-it-yourself will kit; or even prepare a video will. There are many methods of preparing a will and the probate court will make the final decision as to the validity of the testators will based on factors including competency, signatures, witnesses and legal notaries.
