Being an executor of an estate means you are responsible for settling the estate in the manner that the deceased wanted as may be described in a last will and testament. Whether you must go to court or not may depend on the explicit instructions given by the deceased in the will. Moving forward, please contact an Estate attorney to determine the proper course of action.
